I guarentee you Saban wishes he'd never left LSU.

Honestly, he could give a shite

You rang Dog.

Actually, Coach Miles has done a very nice job for LSU. He has that National Title thing going for him too. And , he's funny as shite. Would be a cool guy to go drinking with.

This is how I look at stuff like this:

Many times in life, something you see as bad happens. Then you look back years later and conclude, "You know, that thing that happened led to things being better than they otherwise would've been. It seemed really bad at the time, but it turned out being a real blessing."

And so, in my opinion, it's looking to be with the thing where Nick Saban decided to leave LSU. The LSU football program actually got better.

Additionally, I think Miles is committed to LSU. If he does leave, I think it's going to be because he has some bad years and the fans want him out. I think LSU has a real chance at some relatively long term stability at a high level for the program.

I guess a big win against a team that was down 21 pts to La-Monroe gives one great confidence.

They did dominate Clemson at Clemson. But I think they'll really get their "oil check" next week at Georgia. We'll have a lot better line on how good they are after that one.

+1

LSU was very fortunate to get someone who could fill Saban's shoes. Miles has definitely done that. And Saban is once again building a "coulda been a contenda" program into a contender.

The best thing about having Coach Miles as our coach is he will not be leaving for another school. I hated having to deal with that under Saban. We had the same thing with CLM last year until Michigan hired CRR. There are no distractions, just great LSU football.

I liked Coach Saban when he was at LSU. He got our program on track. I think Coach Miles has brought us to the next level. We are blessed to have gotten CLM when we did. Thanks to Skip for bringing him to LSU. Thanks to Michigan for screwing up their search for a new coach last year.

This will last until the second Bama beats us (if). Some of you fans will throw coach Miles under the bus and would be ready for fire him and comment on how it was just a matter of time before Saban got Bama on top, etc etc etc. No matter what happens I hope some of your realzie what we have and don't start bashing it when things dont go perfect.

And thanks to Kirk Herbstreit for shooting the Michigan coaching search in the foot on national TV!

LSU fans only remember that Saban won a national championship at LSU. If he hadn't done that he would not have lasted at LSU. He was a pompos arse to everyone. He felt he was way above reproach. Miles invented the word class. He meets every challenge head on and most of all he admets he is a Michagan man, but his loyalty is to LSU and he is a damn good coach, coaching a "damn good football team."

How good is Clemson or the ACC for that matter??? The game was in the GA Dome and half there were for Bammer and most of the Clemson fans were gone by mid-3rd qtr.

This is really the first team they have played all year but I can remember the Gumps being this giddy after the Ark game last year only to lose to UGA in OT.

That onside kick was sweeeeeeet. It was shocking, ballsy, and well executed. Les Miles has become my favorite LSU coach in any sport. I love his coaching and his demeanor.

Great description of Miles.
To keep in line with the comparisons, I don't think I'd like to drink with Saban. I don't think he can kick back and relax.

It saddens me how true this statement is. It's only a matter of time before we started trading wins with Bama and some of the people on here will complete idiots when that begins.

very true, but at the same time while he is a great coach he is bound to make a mistake during a loss and criticism without flaming should be expected. I do agree though people like SFP who think they know more about football will be calling for his head.
