Acts of treason do not have to specifically involve attempting to overthrow a country. I know the left likes to make that specific distinction when referencing January 6, 2021. As if a bunch of flag toting Deplorable MAGA supporters were going to actually overthrow our country with red hats and styrofoam coffee cups.

National Guard units fall under the command of the states' governors and may only be brought under federal control in event of war (legally, but obviously not the way things are being done). The Texas governor may mobilize the Texas National Guard to deal with the border issue along the border with Mexico and he would be the one to establish the rules of engagement should he choose to do so.
That's not to say that D.C. won't overstep legal and constitutional authority to do whatever the hell they want though. But, legally, the National Guard falls under the command of the chief executive of the State, not the president.

I guess I'm just a cold-hearted SOB but shouldn't they be blocking them from coming on our side instead of extending a hand to pull them up out of the water and greet them with a bottle of water? Or borders all over the world so easy to cross over by foreigners?
