His dad was on Jordy’s show this mornings. Said they are getting a second opinion… may require surgery or rehabs. Said he wants to play, said he begged his dad to play this past weekend. They will know more at the end of the week.

If it was your son and he stood to make life changing money would you advise him being that he is only 20 years old.

If he’s heathy play, if he has a nagging injury he needs to do whatever it takes to get it healed.

dudes falling into the 2nd round. He’s seemingly been out every other game since his Freshman year.

I would think it would be up to team docs to clear him. Assuming he really wants to play.

Then make it official and quit. It’s football. Literally every play can be the last of your career.

And yes, I get it. He will be a first round pick and make millions. But why did he play at all this year if the only thing they want to do is prevent injury. M

If healthy play or leave the team.

He's falling into the top 5 instead of the top 3.

He missed 3 games last year and 1 game this year.

I'm sure as hell not going out into the public telling the world my grown freakin son is begging me for permission to do something. He may not be ready for the NFL or real world if he's taking orders from daddy.

Nice to know a parent is in charge of our roster
I’m sure that’s true at all the schools with 5 star players though, right ?

I really hate that for him. I hope he heals quickly from whatever intervention is needed and he goes on to have a great pro career. He has made some amazing plays and although I don't know him he seems like a likeable kid.

I guarantee you all college coaches worth a shite will consult with parents, the player, and doctors before making a decision on an injured 20 year old.

Derek does need to take it easy to ensure that he’ll be able to tell his Dad what his Dad can and can’t do.

Finally, the right PR.

Sounds like the dad finally got some good advice. They need to keep telling this exact story.
