Iran Fails To Honor Key Nuclear Agreement, Only Days Away From Enough Fuel For Nukes

The Islamic Republic of Iran, the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism, has failed to honor a key agreement that it reached with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) just a couple of weeks ago.

The deal reached between the two sides would allow the IAEA’s inspectors to service damaged monitoring equipment at one of Iran’s nuclear facilities.

The agency said in a statement:

The (IAEA) Director General (Rafael Grossi) stresses that Iran’s decision not to allow agency access to the TESA Karaj centrifuge component manufacturing workshop is contrary to the agreed terms of the joint statement issued on 12 September. …

Iran from 20–22 September permitted IAEA inspectors to service identified agency monitoring and surveillance equipment and to replace storage media at all necessary locations in Iran with the exception of the centrifuge component manufacturing workshop at the TESA Karaj complex.

“The Sept. 12 agreement, reached on the eve of a meeting of the IAEA’s 35-nation Board of Governors, meant Western powers chose not to seek a resolution criticising Iran at that meeting since the equipment’s memory cards would be replaced just as they were due to fill up,” Reuters reported. “That workshop was the victim of apparent sabotage in June in which one of four IAEA cameras there was destroyed. Iran has not returned that camera’s “data storage medium” and the IAEA said in a report this month it had asked Iran to locate it and explain. Under the deal the IAEA was due to replace its cameras.”

The matter comes as Iran is rapidly moving toward having enough nuclear material to be able to have a nuclear weapon, something that could spark a war in the region as Israel has repeatedly indicated that it will not allow Iran to reach that point.

Back at the start of August, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said that Iran was “only around 10 weeks away from acquiring weapons-grade materials necessary for a nuclear weapon.”

On September 13th, The New York Times reported that Iran, according to the IAEA, “has come within roughly a month of having enough material to fuel a single nuclear weapon.”

“Experts studying new data contained in reports last week by the International Atomic Energy Agency, the United Nations’ atomic inspection group, say that by enriching nuclear fuel in recent months to near bomb-grade levels, Tehran has gained the capability to produce the fuel needed for a single nuclear warhead within a month or so, …” The Times added. “A report issued on Monday by the Institute for Science and International Security, a private group that specializes in analyzing the findings of the United Nations agency, concludes that a race over the summer to enrich uranium at 60 percent purity — just below bomb grade — has put Iran in a position to produce the fuel for a single bomb in ‘as short as one month.'” LINK

Somehow everyone will blame Trump for calling bullshite on the Iran “agreement” and not Beavis and Butthead for negotiating it while lying to everyone over it.

No matter how many times this is repeated, it doesn't make it true. The undisputed leader in state sponsored terrorism is the United States of America, with Saudi Arabia coming in second. What do the Taliban, Al Qaeda and ISIS have in common? They were all created by American intelligence agencies.

I'm not so sure about that. How much was just gifted to the taliban? But back to Iran.. Who didn't see this coming? We are at our weakest right now. Of course our enemies will seize an opportunity to strengthen themselves. Their attaining nukes was always going to be a matter of time and that time is now. What does Israel do about this is the real question. Because we aren't gonna do anything meaningful.

I'd love to disagree but there's nothing to disagree with in your post. Spot on.

Honestly curious. You make this statement every chance you get, so you must believe it. If you actually believe it, how can you possibly live in this country?

Is anything I said factually incorrect? Who organized the Mujahideen resistance in Afghanistan in the 1970's and 1980's? The answer is the United States. And the Mujahideen was the precursor to both the Taliban and Al Qaeda. Which country funded the "moderate rebels" in Syria under Operation Timber Sycamore, which provided arms to a ragtag group of fundamentalists later known as ISIS? The answer is the United States.

Maybe you're ok with our government funding and fomenting terrorism all over the world, but those of us with a brain want it to stop. It's sad to see someone like you (who considers himself MAGA) slurp up propaganda from the same MIC cretins and Israel-firsters who were openly seditious in their behavior towards President Trump.

Why are you asking me questions, when you refuse to answer mine? You tell me how you can possibly justify living in the country you’ve identified as the most evil, villainous, bad actor on planet earth, when you could simply move anywhere in the world to be less evil, and I’ll answer your questions.

Because the principles this country claims to stand for are magnificent, we just haven't abided by them in the last century.

And so you aid and abet the most evil entity the world has ever known with your taxes and citizenship, because of an idea that was killed 100 years ago. Okay, good enough.

regardless of your position on Israel, a nuclear armed Iran is a threat and destabilizer for an already turbulent area.

unfortunately, democrats and the current admin apparently don't see that or just dont care.
