Well most normal people (AEW banned term) don’t care about the dark underbelly of an industry that is suppose to be light and entertaining (AEW banned term) and definitely don’t want that dark underbelly to be brought to light with half truths and outright lies via people being paid to deliver a failing company’s propaganda (insider term).
So are you going to drop that whole “I don’t care about companies just the talent” Boom-like facade you’ve been tapping about or do I need to continue to own your arse like Vince owns Tiny Tony?

Maybe so,lol.
He’s gluten free now.
And DDPY is legit.
Also speedy, check out the Kenny Omega vs Bryan Danielson match from Arthur Ashe Stadium last night. It will make you fall in love with professional wrestling all over again.

Lol no one cares about wrestling except at the Olympics. Ask Certified Midcarder Punk (Chicago Phil for the insiders) about real wrestlers.
And I don’t watch Dark Side of the Ring because there is no point in it.

Son, if you don’t care about pro wrestling and pro wrestlers, why continue to post in threads about them?

About Kanyon, To quote Norm McDonald, he was a “deeply closeted Gay man”
Are they going to try to cancel the undertaker and cena after this episode, like they did my namesake and dreamer last week?

Very obvious he had mental illness/depression.
Yep. I believe he was bipolar. Given other stories about him like the abusive behavior against Sinister Minister, I'm inclined to believe he self-medicated with alcohol and other things to try and deal with that.
Bipolar is no fricking joke when someone is in a normal career and has some structure.
Being bipolar in a career where you are on the road constantly is trouble. Combine that with the rock star life many wrestlers lead and it quickly goes out of control.

Watching it now.
I've gotten up through about the middle of his WCW run, as he has been unmasked and is now wrestling as Kanyon.
I'd heard some of this stuff before but not in the context of him being gay, as Sinister Minister had talked about Kanyon being abusive and somewhat bipolar about 20 years ago but had not said anything about him knowing Kanyon was gay because he was still closeted at the time of the interview and Minister wasn't going to betray his confidence.
Man clearly needed psychological help, if only a counselor to talk to and to come to terms with a lot of stuff. Being bottled up like that clearly damaged him and everyone sees it in hindsight.

I'm now to his post-WWE career.
A lot of what Sinister Minister says about Kanyon being an unreliable narrator and his own worst enemy is very true. Untreated mental illness fricked him six ways from Sunday.
The whole Undertaker bit is a huge WTF though as I had forgotten about the whole "Boy George in the box" incident. I thought the Undertaker stuff would have been from 1-2 years prior when he was outright shitting on any and every WCW guy who came across his path.
I probably have some old Wrestling Observer newsletters from back when that incident happened and I think it was considered a WTF even at the time.

... and now we get to the WWE stuff in full.
He basically campaigned to get his job back after he came out, as the already had Orlando Jordan in the pipeline to be the first openly gay wrestler on the roster, and got a letter from Stephanie McMahon saying "I'll get back to you" and never did, then he started doing the Howard Stern show claiming he was blackballed for being a gay wrestler.
The response to the latter was John Cena saying he was no good and Flair doing an interview with them saying he was disappointed Kanyon was blaming everyone else for his own shortcomings.
Cena went over the top with his statements, IMHO, as Kanyon was good but had shite to work with but Flair was right in that Kanyon, AS OF THAT MOMENT, was not good enough to make it back to WWE.

Will always remember Kanyon for, "This is now a Judy Bagwell on a forklift match."

Stupid question that may have been answered before, but how do they get this footage? The WWE owns nearly every bit of wrestling footage Vice uses. There’s no way the WWE just let’s them use it right? They know none of these episodes are going to make them look good.
Are there different rules for documentaries or something?

Speaking of…you could do a Buff Bagwell Dark Side. From his mom trimming his ballsack to his most recent arrest a few months ago.

His mom trimmed his ballsack?
Oh yeah he was/is a gigolo

Know how Buff first came across the business?
He was living next door to Missy Hyatt in Atlanta. Eddie Gilbert showed up and thought he was destroying shite belonging to her and Bill Fralic but it was actually Buff’s stuff.
He ended up being referred to a trainer after that and did some work for Bert Prentice, with the implication being that Buff traded favors for training.
