Liberals calling for National Divorce seem confused

How is that they don't know that what they really are asking for is simply state sovereignty?
Think about it. A national "divorce" would simply involve states going their own way based on some splits in ideology.
Well hell. We already have that in our basic structure. It's the left that forced this marriage. Most of us never wanted to be "married"
We could achieve 90% of the aims of both liberals and conservatives who want a divorce simply by reiterating the primacy of the 10th Amendment.
And let's face it, there's no such thing as reaching 100% of that goal. Even a civil war ending in a complete split of the nation would result in unhappy people within the boarders of each separate nation.
Go back to having very independent states and let people vote with their feet. If everyone in California wants to go borderline communist, who am I to stop them? I just ask that they leave me and my state alone.

Would be far more complicated than their own broken home experiences.

The south wanted states rights.
The north didn't, they wanted more federal control.

Blue states get custody of all illegals and any welfare cases who want to get sent to California, Washington state, or New York.
Red states get custody of all farmers and blue collar workers who want to work for a living and just be left the hell alone.

I've seen another thread on this board about this "National Divorce". Can you give me the particulars of what they are wanting?

Alas, we're past that now and since a lot of liberals seem to be preaching from the Divorce hymnal too, I'm simply pointing out that we already have the structure in place.
We simply need to go back to actually using that structure

You can't believe in Democratic value and simultaneously hate the other side of the aisle. Any post "civil war" where each side gets their own boundary is devoid of an opposing political party and authoritarian.
None of you have the will to accept the existence of a party that isn't YOUR party. Fine. Just never say anything about taxation/representation or the founding fathers ever again. Enjoy the dictatorial south and dictatorial north because we're all a bunch of babies that can't accept the reality that other people exist and our brains don't all work the same.

We have a mechanism already in this nation that allows for people to gravitate towards places that share their world view. We effectively killed that mechanism, but, it still exists. So, we can go back to it and achieve almost all of what everyone would want.
I mean, I'm pro-life but IDGAF what Peru's view on the subject is. Sovereign states could be just the same.

Problem is that we are reaching the point to where there are irreconcilable differences.
Main reason for that is that stupid blue state policy ends up being foisted on red states because that shite doesn't work unless it becomes federal law / rules and you can't avoid it by crossing state lines.
Allowing red states to leave gives the blue states total control over what is left... and most of those areas will be desolate within a generation because they don't have the infrastructure nor the resources to support what they want without red states acting as colonies.

At the county level, it's not as simple as red state / blue state.

In my version there are helicopter rides.

I'm good with that.
Cutting off water rights to California and heating oil shipments to New England are also fine.

Every nation on the planet is the product of push and pull regarding boarders and self determination. Using your logic, they should ALL be "devoid of an opposing party and authoritarian". Alas, they aren't.

Having sovereign states would simply allow people to use their feet to decide where they fit in best. You can't get more freedom loving than that!

Being confused is the natural state for most libs.
It's also a challenge for them because they want to divorce themselves from conservative states and people, but still want to tell them what to do and how to live their lives.
It's a hell of a conundrum for them.

Yes. Some people would be "left behind" so to say. Alas, if we simply went back to our original structure rather than have an actual "split", people would, if they desired to, vote with their feet.
Some would. Some wouldn't. Individual freedom is grand!

The absolutely biggest mind frick of all time would be to get the left to advocate for what many in the red states want anyway.

I thought the right wanted this?

Well. As it is, the few remaining KKK members must be sitting on their sofas in a permanent state of bewilderment watching the left demand segregation!!!
