Dennis Allen finally got the monkey off his back

2017-2020. 4 years in a row it took him a few weeks to figure it out.
2021. Pure domination in week 1. It looks like he's finally become a complete DC.
He finally corrected his only weakness.

Ignoring playoffs?
Though Brees was generally the bigger problem last few playoffs

Allen's defenses have been fine in the playoffs. The one big blunder obviously is the way he decided to play the final play against Minnesota in 2017 but his second half adjustments were great that game.
He called great games against the Eagles & Rams the following year in 2018. Offense left points on the field against the Rams that came back to bite them in the arse.
Offense let us down in 2019 by not being able to sustain drives & put up points. Offensive line was the biggest issue behind Brees' inability to stretch the field against the Vikings that day.
Last year against Tampa is the only game where you can question his game plan but even still the turnovers, inconsistent offense & failure to score TDs instead of FGs didn't help.

Defense was good enough to win in the playoffs between 2017-2020. 2017 especially, since the offense stalled until the end of the game, only to give it up in the last few seconds.

I still think our BS prevent defense gives too much. We dropped back in it at the end of the first half.
Green Bay gets the FG. Knowing the get the 2nd half kickoff and were inside the 10. We got pressure and got the pick but it could have very easily have gone from 17-0 to 17-10 5 minutes into the 3rd quarter.

He never had a weakness, just was missing players.

I disagree. He would often try to force the personnel into a zone scheme the first few weeks before he finally settled into their strengths of a man based coverage system.

Should have been 6 pernts. Instead it was a turnover.

it wasn't as underthrown as what you're pretending. That dude caught that flying back and leaping. It was hitting devery in stride had that fallen through.

Ginn... i knew it didn't sound right when typing. Even worse. That's the no come back and fight for shite Ted Ginn Junior.

Go watch the game again. Rodgers made two good throws into tight coverage to get them into FG range. It's not like the Saints were just sitting back playing zone and giving the WRs a ton of open space. The throw he made to Adams to set them up for the FG was a 25 yard deep out in-between two Saints. It had to be a perfect throw...and it was
The QB on the other side is a future HOFer for a reason. He made a couple of throws (particularly the last one) that not every guy can make. It wasn't a "prevent" defense

This ball was a good 5 yards underthrown & behind Ted Ginn. It needed be out front where Ginn could run through the catch just like Devery in the gif below.

that ball is 2 feet higher and its a completion. I don't understand what quite is your point with all the drew harassment. Fact is, the minny miracle was the fricking disaster of the game.

5 makes all the difference in the world. You’d never know he tore his Achilles 9 months ago.

Both throws were made from almost the exact same spots on the field idiot. Look at how much shorter the throw is to Ginn in comparison to the throw to Devery. You frickin blind or what?
