I know USC is a destination job, but Fickell has something going really nice at Cincinnati, plus the Bearcats are set to join the Big 12 and P5 soon, i will be curious to see if Cincinnati counters with a pay raise for him and he stays at Cincinnati. USC is tough to turn down though.

He does have something nice but he will always be second fiddle in his state, if not worse. OSU is the college football power in that state.

Now that LA has 2 NFL teams and UCLA may start being good (we will see) USC may not be the biggest game in town anymore though, so does he mind being second fiddle absolutely in Ohio, or will he want to try to bring USC back to the forefront.

You can't turn down the brass ring. Brian Kelly didn't when Notre Dame came calling. When has Cincy been in the playoffs or sniffed a MNC?

There's a one-off ceiling with Tulanes, Hawaii, even Boise State (which got closer than anyone) and he bolted for Washington.

Is it? There's probably 20 better jobs out there.

I'm not sure USC is a destination job right now. Money is all they have to offer. Quality of life is an issue. Would you want to raise a family in Southern California? That state is having an exodus of people because the quality of life is not as good. Big Time recruits are heading East to land at places that care more about football that life itself.

USC might be your last job so get paid well with a huge buyout so you won't have to worry about coaching again if it destroys your career.

Is USC truly a destination job. One coach ran away in the dead of the night due to multiple violations, one was fired on the tarmac at the airport, and one was let go after two games into this season.

The only way USC has won in 30 years is to cheat. Hardly a destination.
