My kids are vaccinated for chicken pox. It never occurred to me to skip that vaccine b/c chicken pox wouldn't kill them.
The Chickenpox vaccine actually works as a vaccine and has been around for 40 years. You are comparing apples and oranges.

In 40 years you will still be making daily vaccine threads here.

The first sentence you type in your OP is talking about vaccinating kids where the death rate is nearly zero. I simply pointed out that we do that all the time with other vaccines. apples to apples.
whether it's been around for one year or 40 years, every vaccine starts somewhere. I wouldn't have put my kids first in line to get a shot back then and my kids won't be first in line to get one for covid. But after some time and enough people have had any vaccine, I'd be open to it if the pediatricians recommend it. My pediatrician is very conservative and I'd trust his opinion on it.
