Well considering LSU standards and goals and considering that no team has lost a season opener and reached the playoffs I’d say the season is effectively over already. You can try to fool yourself into thinking we can still compete in the west but that’s not even a pipe dream. But hey if your idea of success is the independence bowl then get fired up cause that’s still on the table.

Who was the only team to win a NC with 2 losses in BCS era? I’m not giving up hope after 1 game…waited months for the season to start.

The loss to V-Tech was week 2. Ohio State beat Navy in week one that season.

That’s wasn’t the playoff era and we didn’t lose the opener. The last team to lose a season opener and still share a national title was Miami in 1983.
