Specifically Lake Charles because that’s where I live.
What type of pay can you expect at a place like Triad for:
1st year:
5th year:
10+ years down the line:
Feel free to say anything you know about that industry.
*For a 2 year program, not a 4 year program.

From my understanding through a few friends who are in the field.. if you have a 4-year degree you can get to supervisory and up positions pretty quick. Which start making serious money. You don't have to go very far up to be in 6 digits.
ETA: I mean a 4-year degree separate from your electrical training/experience. Like industrial safety degree or similar.

If you're looking 10 years down the line, get in the maintenance group at one of the plants for Triad or ISC and try to get hired by the plant. Refineries pay between $46 and $50 for their own workers. Contractors get about $30ish

These numbers are close based on the Dept of Labor and reported earnings. OT is where these professions make $$$

The company I worked for hired ex-navy Chiefs. $25/hour. Time and a half for four hours overtime, double for eight. This was 12 years ago.
Pain in the arse to manage, but beyond competent.
The old electricians were replaced by electronic technicians. These guys were great because as I had one of them say, "In the Navy there is no outside contract.
"You are in the middle of a fricking ocean, or you're underwater.
"Are you going to call a contractor to fix something"?

Our plant pays close to $50 an hour if you work for us.
