Help with growing bermuda grass

I just had my yard leveled a couple weeks ago and immediately seeded it with bermuda grass. i know it is late but had no choice. i can see the bermuda sprouting, but it is mostly nutsedge that is coming up. it has been a mud hole around here so I would rather have any type of grass than no grass at all. but what can i do to maybe enhance the bermuda growth and slow down the other types of grass? or should i just wait til spring to do anything?

You are not going to slow down anything on bare dirt. Weeds, sedges, and grass is all going to grow. If it has been a mudhole then let the bermuda grow and don't worry about anything else. In the fall maybe you can spray a post emergent on your weeds. In the spring you should be able to do a pre emergent.

ok so my bermuda seed will be fine til spring even if it is taken over by the nutsedge?

They will grow together. Something like nutsedge won't crowd out bermuda. What kind of bermuda did you use? Some germinate better than others.

i don't remember what kind, but it was some decently high quality stuff i got from hancock

It’ll be fine. Just let everything grow together. I would wait until next spring for pre-emergent then hit whatever comes up with sedgehammer and msm

I’ve only seeded small patches, but it has always needed a pretty heavy watering schedule til pretty well established.

Any ideas on how to get rid of bermuda?
I have a yard full of nice, thick zoysia and patches of bermuda are starting to pop up. No idea where it came from, but it's really overtaking the zoysia in those spots. I assumed the zoysia would crowd it out, but the opposite seems to be happening.
