If you’ve had Covid it’s completely reasonable to not get the vaccine for 8 months to a year. After that, you could get at least one shot. You can make an argument to not get a second and NO ONE who knows the data should fault your for it. Having COVID is like getting the first shot. Getting a shot after is like getting booster. Those who have had COVID and then had at least one shot are likely the best protected people out there.
This is what I read on a few preprint studies as well as some of the data out of Israel. Not sure why the CDC won’t convey this to the public. After my sister had Covid, her doctor said that natural immunity + full vaccination is the gold standard and you can’t do better than that. Any truth to that?

Haha sarcasm and stupidity are hard to decipher these days.

I think the Israel study that got posted 12 times yesterday said peak immunity was natural antibodies then getting a booster.

Yes. Though the benefit of the second shot after natural infection is debatable but “can’t do better than that” is certainly true.

I'm not going to pretend to be an expert here, but isn't the point of the vaccine to elicit an immune response from your body, mimicking your body's response to the actual virus?
I would think your body fighting the actual virus would produce better immunity than getting a shot of the watered down virus. That being said, I'm nowhere close to a healthcare related field

No.

How many months has it been and you STILL think the vaccine is something it's not?

No shite? :rotflmao:

This. And if you do get the second shot, you may well be better off to wait several months to do so versus the normal 21-28 day interval. That's true for folks getting vaxxed and never having been infected, too.

Not sure it’s completely understood, but infectious inoculation dose may be playing a large part here. Perfect example: moderna is being shown to be better than Pfizer against delta variant despite being almost identical. Possible / likely reason? Moderna is simply a bigger inoculation.

Ok, then how is your body's reaction to a fake virus better for you than your body's reaction to the real virus?

Oh, so the vaccine is just taking full blown rona and injecting us? Interesting

Because the "party of the common man" was bought and paid for by Big Tech, Big Pharma and the ChiComs decades ago.

Hey everyone look, we have a molecular biochemist in this thread. We’re so lucky

No, the vaccine mimics the shape of the virus in the form of a benign protein so that you don't receive the life-threatening side effects of Covid that plague some people (some, not all). It is simply a less risky way to receive immunity. Now whether natural immunity is better than vaccine produced immunity is something worth debating. From what I understand, natural immunity is solid with the only issue being that everyone's case of covid is unique to them, meaning we don't know how long-lasting someone's immunity may be. You could have covid and be good with antibodies and such for >1 year and then someone else with a more mild case could only be good for 3-4 months.
However, natural immunity + at least one shot seems to be undoubtedly better. So if you aren't scared of the vaccine, then that's certainly the way to go to best avoid any breakthrough infections or the like.

is this the sister that’s a ICU Nurse in Pittsburgh or the sister who works for the CDC? Maybe this sister is married to the Immunologist?

You should request to merge your covid threads.

Natural immunity has been shown to last only 3 months or so, so it extends immunity.
Fricking laughable!!! If you hear this bullshite from any agency and especially from the Vaxx Covidians that natural immunity isn’t far superior to a MAN-MADE experimental vaccine your delusional. Think about what I just said, those same agencies and government officials want me to get the jab yet they had absolutely no problem milking my body for antibodies for seven months post Covid infection. I happily donated my plasma to help my fellow citizens and now those same citizens want me to show a vaxx passport at certain locations, yeah frick that and frick them, at this point I wish I wouldn’t have given a drop of my blood.
Had COVID? You’ll probably make antibodies for a lifetime
Posted on 8/27/21 at 6:06 pm to Boomdaddy65201
Thank you for service. Unfortunately convalescent plasma (what you donated) hasn’t worked as well as we hoped. Likely for reasons suggested in the article you linked that circulating antibodies drop dramatically after four months. I think that’s the origin of his comment, though he likely misinterpreted it.
The title of the article you linked is a bit misleading. You will likely have bone marrow plasma cells for life. That does not suggest 100% immunity. Most of us have plasma cells to the chicken pox virus. However, that immunity wanes as we get older and once it drops below a certain level, that same virus comes back as shingles. With all that said, you will likely not get SEVERE disease if you’ve had COVID before. But it may not prevent you from getting a mild to moderate form of the disease. Vaccination after natural infection will almost certainly prevent that…the number of boosters if any however is TBD

Same as for people that haven't had covid. Nothing, It's not a vaccine.
