Wife (no pics) found some MRE's the National Guard was handing out after Katrina. How long DO those bad boys last.

Think I heard they are good for 10 years maybe? Doubt the heating elements work in them but the food contents will be better than the ones they hand out now (assuming still edible).

Hell that SteveMRE dude eats stuff from the civil war so I'd give one a try.

About six months ago I ate an MRE out of a box that I got after Gustav that someone gave me. The only thing wrong with it was that the heater pack did not work so I had to heat it on the stove. But it was still good without a doubt everything in it was still good.
