Premier League to not release players for international duty for "red-list" countries

As of now, this is only for the September international window, but could very easily continue into October.
Costa Rica, Mexico and Panama are included on the list.
It means we would not have Pulisic, Steffen and Sargent for Panama in October.

And McKennie keeps getting linked with English teams.

Doesn't look like we'd actually be affected until October 10 @ Panama. Mexico and Costa Rica are both home games in Oct/Nov. Could definitely be worse, assuming this extends into October

Good news is that it means Mexico won't have Jimenez and our MLS team already beat that Mexico.

South America getting dicked down

Why would that affect US players? We aren't a red listed country.

No but we will play games in red listed countries

9/2 @ El Salvador - clear
9/5 Canada - clear
9/8 @ Honduras - clear
10/7 Jamaica- clear
10/10 @ Panama - trouble
10/13 Costa Rica - clear
So 1 potential issue but we should be able to beat Panama without our PL boys.

After seeing all the piles of dead athletes' bodies, further restrictions like this only make sense

Poli board is that way big dawg.
This isn’t about death, this is about EPL not wanting its best players needing to miss matches because of England’s mandated quarantining process. Take off the tin foil hat and approach things analytically.

And I guarantee if the EPL pushed back they would gain some traction because if they

we would see there is no need for these guys who are vaccinated and young and fit to not be able to play for their countries

Josef Martinez had heart problems after catching it at the Copa America.

FIFA has already said they will fight this and sanction teams that refuse to release players.

Soccer players should be exempt from this
