I mean when one guy (Dinwiddie) looked significantly better and playing defense than the rest, I think it proves it does matter. I understand being a good defender in the league doesnt mean just one on one defense. It means being engaged in general, sticking to your assignment, but understanding/knowing when when to switch, working through picks, etc. But Im not saying "Oh crap he sucks on defense because losing one on ones in the gym" Just saying that he did look pretty impressively offensively one on one but not as much on the other side

It really doesn't. The NBA is more about team defense than it is about individual defense. It's why bad defenders can be part of a good defense as well as good defenders can be part of a bad defense.

You can't put any stock in these games from either side of the ball. NAW forcing his man into the teeth of the defense or the help, play passing lanes, and provide strong help defense, rotating, hustling, and closing out the right shooter on the perimeter is more important and it's not going to show up in a pick up game highlight video.
