Imagine if he got to play for 4 years like these days, and didn't play in a two QB system!

Charlie Mac was a good man and won a lot of ballgames. But he had some Les Miles in him and the way he handled Bert Jones is one example.

Jones hurt his shoulder in 1978 and was never the same. That put limits on what could have been a Hall of Fame career. In today’s medical climate for arm injuries, they probably would have been able to fix his shoulder and probably would have kept him from trying to come back too soon.

Actually Bert couldn’t play as a freshman
