Bowden the Man: I don’t share his faith but think he was a great man who did a lot of good in the world and I respect him for that.
Bowden the Coach: He was a great recruiter and remarkably consistent during the prime of his FSU tenure, but whether it was poor coaching or just bad luck his teams usually lost when it mattered most. Should have won more than two natties, IMO.

Bowden was a hard man to dislike. He had that charm and used it.
