Since the NFC Championship two years ago, I knew what kind of coach we had. i think it was a mistake to give him that 5 year extension. The team is a soft, finesse big play team and they have taken on his characteristics. We still aren't nasty enough upfront on offense or defense and he still doesn't know in what situations you should be aggressive. The media might love all the toys we have on offense but we are the new millenium Detroit Lions from the early 90's. All style and no substance.

i agree that we are a little too finesse.

we need to bring in a DC that has a good scheme and has that physical, fly to the ball mentality.

Payton is the most Over-Rated 19-17 coach in history.

FWIW: If Deuce is OK to carry the ball, and it's 3rd and 2, RUN HIM. At least go down with your best players.

For what the Saints have had in the past, Payton is a significant upgrade

agree.
Deuce ran twice for 10 yards. give it to him. I know Payton is coming on slow with him though. O-line didn't help on the 3rd and 2. Pierre can get 2 yards but o-line really blew it.

Its the second week!
We have alot of injuries!
I think the Fujita hurt us the worst though.

I agree that they may hve been a little premature on that extension . They pulled the trigger on Haslett early and had to buy him out . They had a very lucky draft in 06 . Compare the next two drafts to see why I call it lucky . I am not saying I want to fire Payton . Give him a little more time to prove he is worthy of that extension . Is there anyone out there that doen't scratch their heads wondering why they keep running Reggie btwn the tackles . Pierre Thomas and Deuce are obviously your inside runners use them .

Blee Dat.

imo Defense played better then the offense. imo
saints offense:
3 turnovers
50 yards rushing
200 yards passing
and the Skins had good field poss. all day

they put the defense in bad poss. all day.
they held up in the first half cause the skins offense struggled. they had 5 fg atts int the first half. think if those fg att. was touchdowns.
or even two was TD. we would have been blown out.

Amen brotha. Who else here, by the way, thought Dunbar played damn good and would like to see him stay in there as a starter. Dude made some great plays on the ball and looks like he gets it. I was impressed.

I agree man. Peyton whiffed on a few tackles on the Redskins second to last scoring drive, so that TD was his fault. He also blew the coverage on the Santana Moss TD, so that's his fault too. He also caused Brees' two tipped INT's. That bastard just can't seem to do anything positive for the team.
