quote:No. The vaccine is to minimize the virus' impact if you get it. It can't prevent live virus from landing on your mucosal membranes and replicating. There is still a bit of a lag with your immune system.
I thought vaccinated people couldn't catch COVID? I mean, that's what a "vaccine" is for, right?

That doesn't sound like a "vaccine" to me. At least not by the CDC's definition.
quote:
Immunity: Protection from an infectious disease. If you are immune to a disease, you can be exposed to it without becoming infected.
Vaccine: A product that stimulates a person’s immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease, protecting the person from that disease. Vaccines are usually administered through needle injections, but can also be administered by mouth or sprayed into the nose.
Vaccination: The act of introducing a vaccine into the body to produce immunity to a specific disease.
Immunization: A process by which a person becomes protected against a disease through vaccination. This term is often used interchangeably with vaccination or inoculation.
There's nothing in there about "minimizing the virus' impact", only "protected" and "immunity".
Are we changing the definition of the word " vaccine" now?
