Thanks, I'll add him to the list. I had mentioned him on Sunday as someone that looked close to committing.

He's originally from Denham Springs and was committed to Oklahoma State until recently.

Way more, it seems, because he actually has a few on the roster! God, this ride is gonna be fun!

Not sure if he’s been asked about it or mentioned it to any LSU/local media yet but in several of his Arizona press conferences and interviews he says things like “you know what I think about left handed hitters and pitchers in our program”. It sounds like staying loaded with LHs is strategic and more than just being balanced.

Maybe if Hunt reads this he can ask about it the next time he has him on.

Early workouts Johnson mentioned Drost and Leto as impressive at the plate and really thinks Jordan Thompson has improved at the plate and will be the SS

I
If the players come out with energy and urgency, the non conference schedule should provide a ton of blowouts and opportunities for mass substitutions to get guys at bats. fth]

Catcher rated 27th in the country

LSU has two commitments in the 25 class both in the top 30

At this point I think Jay is just trying to get his 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 classes filled now and focus on coaching the rest of the way

I'm guessing once fall ball starts it will start to slow down recruiting wise
The issue now is how do you balance saving spots for potential transfers

I think it allows you to be more aggressive with top tier HS talent. If you don't get them on campus you still have the portal. If you do get them on campus then someone from your team hits the portal.

The recent flurry of commits is because they've been able to leverage football home games as recruiting events.

The next target group would be JUCO guys going through fall ball right now. I don't know how many JUCO guys they plan to add for next season, but now would be the time we start adding.

ETA: Next season being 2022-2023, not the season for this school year.
