Went to bed it was 7-0. Checked the scores this morning with bleary eyes and saw an “8” and a “1” and said “good.” Then checked the standings page and saw A’s and Mariners had gained ground. Re-checked scoreboard and saw the other “1.”
There need to be at least 3 new pitchers from another organization and all 3 better be able to at least throw a fricking strike. And don’t wait until Friday (thanks, 5), Click. Get off your fricking worthless arse and do it today.

Deadline is Friday afternoon. I had been thinking Saturday as well since that’s the 31st but I guess they don’t want it being on a weekend

This bullpen meltdown may have been a blessing in disguise. Hopefully Crane was watching from his yacht somewhere and gave Click the go ahead to spend the big bucks.

You guys are putting a lot of faith in someone whose claim to fame by his own admission, is a paper he did on when to use the bunt.
All I knew of him, before that interview during the Rangers game, was that he came from Tampa Bay, and was hopeful he would bring that same analytical approach that’s made them a perennially successful franchise. But when I heard about the paper on bunting, I’m thinking we got us a low level clerk from the mailroom.
I mean how many losses are we gonna sacrifice because of this shitstained bullpen before he makes some moves? And don’t forget, he put his stamp of approval on this roster when the season started.

With a 2-run lead, 4 innings to go and no Pressly, the bullpen blowing that game was inevitable. The game was lost however, when Maldy converted Garcia into a two-trick pony with a fastball and changeup, forgetting that it was legal to throw a curveball to a lefty.
8 of the 11 runs were scored with 2 outs. And the other 3 came on a bases clearing double with one out after Garcia made an errant throw to second that “pulled” our midget 2nd baseman off the bag.

For anyone who went to sleep early and wants details as to how the collapse happened, it went down exactly how you would probably imagine it with the culprits being exactly who you thought they would be.
Bad bullpen. Bad managing of the bad bullpen. Bad pitch calling.
Brooks Raley being shoved into a high leverage spot fresh off the IL was a sin.
His line: 3 batters faced. Walk, HR, HBP. No outs recorded.
They said on the broadcast that Raley's wife had a baby while he was on the IL. I sent him a gift, courtesy of the DAT. It is a onesie with "My daddy's ERA since I was born is infinity" on the front.
