A few years ago there was a "Louisiana" restaurant in Ottawa, Ont - Bon Tons. It was OK, gumbo was good, had boudin, jambalaya, etoufee, blackened fish etc - they couldnt make it w/ just LA items so they had various fish and shrimp dishes.
It lasted a few yrs and then closed. Reminded me of the saying on how to make $1M ..... start w/ $5M open a restaurant for a few yrs and close it when you have $1M

The best seafood dishes I've eaten outside LA (and I'll expand that to MS Gulf Coast) are:
Grilled grouper sandwiches on the FL Gulf Coast
Shrimp and grits at Landings in Charleston
Shrimp poboy from BBs (not Pecks quality) but very good
Lobster bisque Pappadeaux's
Everything else has been ok to whoa. And I luv me some seafood.
