The people promoting this are the same ones putting sick elderly people with covid in old age homes.

This is a terrible comparison, but....
I don't think people have an issue with "promotion," it's the stuff that goes beyond that- mandates, IC cards, etc.
Secondly, the list of things that we could "promote," (read: legally mandate, implement ID Cards, restrictions, ostracize for incorrect behavior, etc.) to "save lives," goes far far beyond a single vaccine. And I think that's part of the issue.
