I just want them to get off their asses and make a Half Life series. Then a Portal series. Then tie them together because Valve is too lazy to give us Half Life 3.

Half Life is another that could be interesting. See TLOU doesn't interest me that much because I already feel really connected to the characters from the game. Not sure how the show will enhance it. Gordon Freeman is still a mystery. Now some people like that he is a silent protagonist but there is lots of opportunity to build him and that universe. And it has a huge fanbase like yourself that want more.

But video games are different. You've seen the movie. Not only have you seen the movie, you've controlled the movie. You've been the movie. It's why video game movies don't work. You have to piggy back off the property, not just exchanged the media.
No, they usually don't work b/c fools making the movies decide to completely throw away major parts of the story for no damn reason.

I liked the game, but thought it was inexcusable that the player didn't make the big decision at the end of the story. They really should have had multiple endings based on how you chose.
Why can't the story just be what it is? I do enjoy when some games let you do that but I feel like this made it more impactful of a story.
