Happy 17th To The GOAT Football Game, NFL 2K5

From the helmet cams to the random celebrity cameos, and the cribs this game showed more of the NFL star life than any Madden game ever has. Not to mention the game was just simply better than Madden and was only $20

Cmon guys, we have a fun football "simulation" game that has been based on a broken code every since it was rushed to Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

I still prefer sports games on the OG Xbox. Hook it up to an Mclassic and it looks great on a modern tv.

PS2/Xbox were the glory days of football games. Can’t tell you how many late nights I put in.

This. You had to be there.
There was something really special about recruiting your guys in the NCAA games, winning awards and championships, and sending them to the NFL and seeing how they would develop. Or building a small school from nothing into a powerhouse.
The PS3/XB360 era had this too, but idk, something always felt incomplete, or off...it never felt quite the same as it did on the older consoles.
And you actually had options for football games. You had Madden, NFL2k, Gameday, Fever, Blitz. There was something for everybody.

I ran shite in that game using Carolina playing online. I was one of the highest ranked players. I remember playing one of the top 5 ranked and he kept trying to pull bullshite and was smoking him until he finally pulled the plug and took the L.
If I remember right you got higher ranked by beating higher ranked players. I had a great 1-2 punch with I believe Stephen Davis and deshaun foster. Delhomme was qb and they had at least a couple good wr.
