Haiti’s genetics are 95% sub-Saharan Africa. Compared to the DR which is 30% African and 60% European.

Man, the natives of Hispaniola took it on the chin, demographics wise, huh? 10% of DR and less than 5% of Haiti's (by implication) DNA is indigenous.

They were bred out a long time ago. They were labeled extinct by the Spanish in the 1700’s.

Few people realize that far far more slaves were shipped to the Caribbean than the US. Heck the total to the US was less than 400K and Jamaica alone had over a million shipped there. At the same time disease destroyed the local population.

There remained remnants of Carib indians in the lower part of the Caribbean, St. Vincent, Dominica, and the mountains of Trinidad. My wife's grandmother is 100% Carib and you see it in my wife's high cheekbones and piercing beautiful eyes (if I say so myself). Course she also has that Carib temperament but thats a subject for another day.

The one exception to the Caribbean is Trinidad where they brought over vast numbers of East Indians as indentured servants, so the population is almost evenly split between them and blacks.
