So I found a hunting camp I want to buy but it’s a mobile home. I am learning that it’s actually kind of hard to find banks that finance mobile homes.

Anyone have any suggestions for property in Mississippi.

Also, I don’t live in Mississippi so I haven’t found credit unions I qualify for.

There are lending companies that specialize in mobile home financing. The biggest two are

21st Mortgage Corp

Vanderbilt Mortgage

If it's not your primary residence it may be a little more difficult. I would refer to the property as a vacation home or 2nd home instead of camp in the application process

There are a few more lending options in this

Do a HELOC. Your interest rate will be much better.

HELOC is a great option if you have equity.

I am getting one right now because I'm buying some raw timberland where I want to build a camp/bugout homesite. 2.9%

I just closed on a mobile home loan here in louisiana thruogh Triad. I believe they are out of Florida. 10/10 would not recommend. Worst process i've been through. Of course everything was blamed on the China flu. Heard lots of good things about 21ST though FWIW.

When I bought my camp I went through MS Land Bank. They specialize in purchases for things like farming, hunting, timber etc. They do have a requirement of some type of agricultural use I think but they just list it as “timber” or at least that’s what they did for mine.
