I know Edwin Edwards’ fathered a son at like 85-86, doubt anyone here can beat that. But I’m sure some here had a dad that was considerably older than their peers. So what was it like? Positives, negatives?

My dad was in his upper 30s when I was born.. When I was young I used to think 30 was old.

I'm an "older dad" too.I'm 49 with a 12 year old son. I make sure I'm always there and am ready to go and do whenever he is. It ain't always easy but he's a great kid.

I had my first and only at 38. Older than usual, but whatever, still young enough to do shite with him.

I was the last of five, born when he was 35.
Boys on the ends and girls in the middle.
He was more patient and had more scratch than he was for his eldest child and namesake.

I was a few months shy of 27 when my first was born. And a few weeks past 37 when my last was. I’ll be that grandpa looking dad at his graduation.

Mine was 40.
I felt a big disconnect because he wasn't very active when I was an adolescent.
But, he was pretty lazy and introverted his whole life. He was very kind though.
I do wish we had been closer in age, if for nothing else he woukd have been in my life longer.
