why are you pretending that only YT and Twitter are user generated sites?
are you advocating for the government to actively pick winners and losers here? because that is what it seems y'all are arguing

They're user generated sites who's leadership has decided to very blatantly censor in one direction politically.
But you know this, and are just playing your obtuse OT schtick.

They defend monopolies and ignore collusion to keep competing entities from the market.
You keep bringing up possible “negatives”, but those “negatives” are already occurring.
“It could be worse”
I would rather remove their protections and force it to come to a head, because the “worse” you are referencing will most likely come whether they lose immunity or not.
Hell, Facebook is currently asking their users to “report anyone who may have extremist views” so that they, as a company can intervene and help that person.
Dude, we are so beyond the level of “what the frick” at this point that something drastic needs to be done.
These monopolistic entities wield an ungodly amount of power, and it is just getting worse.
If the small ones suffer to bring down the giants, it is a sacrifice I will happily make every day of the week.

The long game is a platform that doesnt edit legal user content.
I dont shed a tear for cnn when they get sued for defamation and lose. I wouldnt shed one for twitter or youtube (because of their behavior).

You dont seem to comprehend the difference between a public space and published/edited forum. You can go to your public square and enjoy free speech. You can go on a private phone, email, letter correspondence and enjoy free speech. If you slander me, i cant sue the phone company, isp provider, or us postal service for liabilities. But if you slander me on fox news, then fox news may be liable for the content that they choose to air.

No. I am advocating that the government has already picked winners by not subjecting twitter and youtube to the same consequences of CNN and the New York Times op ed.

You are slow if you think i want censorship. I dont. I want fair and equal treatment. Not corporatism, favoratism, and legal shields for mega companies like youtube and twitter. If the twitter platform wrongs me, i should be able to sue twitter because they regularly edit/modify/promote specific content and language. It is a free country. They should have the right to choose to be a platform or publisher. They have a long track record as a publisher.
