“A record total of 26 current, future or former Ohio State athletes will compete in this summer's Olympic Games set to begin in Tokyo next month.”

“Future” is somewhat strange to count.

It should not. The athletes made it on their own prior to joining.

It would be like LSU counting Kim Mulkey’s NCs at Baylor as championships for LSU.

They also have like 500,000 undergrads. I bet the % of students who make it is pretty average

That list doesn't seem complete. Don't we have a soccer player too?

Duop Thomas Reath (born June 26, 1996) is an Australian professional basketball player for Crvena zvezda of the Euroleague and the Adriatic League. He played college basketball for the LSU Tigers.

quote:

Early life
Born in South Sudan, Reath and his family moved to Brisbane when he was aged 9. He moved again to Perth soon after. Reath attended Girrawheen Senior High School where he first played soccer with ambitions of playing for the Socceroos. A growth spurt in year ten led to him to begin playing basketball.[1]

quote:

Senior season
Reath appeared in 33 games, including 28 starts in the Tigers' 2017–18 season. He averaged 12.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game during the season.[2] On January 20, 2018 he scored career-high 31 points against the Vanderbilt. He was named the SEC Player of the Week in the fifth week.[4]

He has lived an interesting life and now he's an Olympian.

Yes she is.

Headlining the team are longtime USA National Team members Sue Bird (Seattle Storm) and Diana Taurasi (Phoenix Mercury), who each donned a USA Basketball jersey for the first time in 2000 and own a combined eight Olympic and seven FIBA World Cup gold medals, and three-time Olympic gold medalist Sylvia Fowles (Minnesota Lynx), who also captured gold at the 2010 FIBA World Cup.
