Is the movie Lawless underrated?

Lawless is one of those movies that I have to watch every time it's on TV. Not only that but every time I watch it, it's even better than I remember. The setting, the acting, the villain are all top notch. Guns, gangsters, money, moonshine, Jessica Chastain naked.. What's not to love?

It's a really good movie with a good villain
It's an easy rewatch
Hardy's accent might be a little much

I ordered the book this morning after another rewatch. I can't believe I haven't read it yet.

I had never heard of it and watched it a couple of months ago. Really enjoyed it.
I don’t think I’ve seen a bad movie that Shia LaBouf is in.

It’s appropriately rated.

Low key one of the better movie villains I've ever seen in a movie. I wanted Tom Hardy to frick him up the entire time.
Really good movie.

Seent it at the theater when it came out. One of my favorite movies of the last 10-12 years.

My father-in-law has a few of his model As in Lawless. He's also in some of the gunfight scenes in the background.
He has 4 model As registered on some website, and when a movie maker needs 1930s cars, he'll drive them in the background.

Watching it new after reading about it in a recent thread on this board? How the heck had I never heard of it before? I'm about 2/3 through. Just got past the part where they sent the nuts in the jar to Rakes. Really like it so far.
Edit: The ending was somewhat lackluster, imo. I was really hoping for a fistfight between Forrest and Rakes. Also, they killed Forrest off way too young. IRL, he didn't die from pneumonia til his mid-60s.

I’ve never seen the movie but some of the Bondurant family live out here and one of them was best man at my wedding. They were invited to the premier and got to meet the cast. One of them, now deceased, had a very large collection of model A’s, T’s and ranch/farming equipment. They're good people.

Yes I agree it is underrated.

Would that be the family of Bob Bondurant, former F1 and sports car driver, owner of driving schools, and restorer of cars?
