I picked up the 3400psi Simpson unit with the Kohler motor at Sams a week ago and using it for the first time. Trying to blast our concrete back porch where I do my grilling and smoking and have had some light spills. Gotta say I'm a little underwhelmed
Is this a mandatory degreaser type job and im being dumb. Barely even seems to lighten the spots no matter how long I spend on them. Didn't think it'd be perfect without using soap, just figured it'd lift them up alot better than it is. Idk

Yeah it’s not going to lift grease and oil much. You get a true 5k psi washer and your concrete will start to come up. Better off using chemicals.

Damn really? I thought maybe a 4400 at most, but what do I know. I didn't think most people had $1000 pressure washers at home for domestic shite. Back to the drawing board I guess

Cat litter may help.
I typically get some dry dirt and grind it in then wash it off. It seems to absorb some grease. Try Dawn soap too.

GPM is more important than PSI.
More water = better cleaning.

I used to work at AAA Rent All in college. We rented a 1500 psi for standard house washing, a 2500 psi for driveways, and the 4000 was for serious stuff. Those pressures dont mean a lot unless the flow rate is adequate

I got one of these for father's day. I may never crank my gas powered pressure washer again

Dude what the heck will you even do with 550psi. Will that even get cobwebs down?

That's bad information. You are correct though that GPM is important and a lot of people do not recognize it.
To functionally judge the cleaning power of a pressure washer when comparing to other washers, most experts advise to multiply the GPM and the PSI together to get a straight forward comparison. It gets tricky though with many electric washers that the GPM changes at a certain PSI. Greenworks has a few models with with 'I'm tip it is 2400psi and 2.5gph, but with 'y' tip it is 3200psi and 1.8 gph.

I have one of those small Greenworks 1700 or 1800 psi electric ones that I bought with the full intention of returning it because I had zero faith it would be worth a crap. I've been using it for 2.5 years now and haven't touched my gas pressure washers since. I've washed my 30x40 metal shop & slab, gutters, brick house, cement driveway, camp, wooden deck and when this one dies I'll probably just upgrade to the one that's on wheels to make storing easier. I use either Jo-Max & Clorox Outdoor mix or the 30 Second Cleaner to get the stains off.

Do you use these with/in the pressure washer or just separate?
I really need to go around and clean up my house fascia/gutters. I have some of the 30 Second Cleaner and an electric pressure washer, but wasn’t sure what worked best.

Im curious too. I haven't run any cleaner actually through the machine. I couldn't see the value in that for some rust and grease stains on concrete

So is anyone in here of the opinion that a 4400psi unit would do what im wanting to do. Make a patio and driveway white

I use it like a prewash. Soak whatever I'm washing with the mixture, let it sit for 5-10 min, then hit it with the pressure washer.
