Thanks for all the info! Very useful for my research.

And thanks for the tip about Dubrovnik. Hmmm. My wife and I are definitely bigger fans of quieter, under-the-radar type of cities. Would much rather explore and culturally immerse ourselves with the locals than mill around with tourists.

Whether or not we should visit Dubrovnik will be a key part of our decision-making because of it's location.

How difficult is it to get to/from Hvar? Difficult enough to make it worth staying more than 2 days?

Dubrovnik is one of those places that i'm glad I can say I went but I won't ever go back. Hvar is one of those places where we booked 2 days and once we got there we were trying to figure out how we could rearrange our trip to make it 3

If you absolutely have to go see Dubrovnik, I think you can hit all the highlights in a full day and be satisfied. We enjoyed ourself so much more everywhere else we went. Much more cultural immersion other places. The entire coastline is beautiful so by the time you get to Dubrovnik at the end of your trip it's just meh. Maybe book your flight out of Dubrovnik and just make a fast pass through on your way to the airport so you can say you went.

To answer your question though, I don't think the ferries are too much trouble for two days in Hvar. That's what we did and i'm glad we went.

We loved Dubrovnik and spent 2 full days and nights there. I think there is more culture there than on any of the islands. But to each his own.
