I like that Shazz Preston has been compared to Jarvis Landry. That sort of fearlessness in a WR comes along about once a decade.

Thing is he has way more athletic ability.

Shazz preston is probably one of the top receivers on their board.

If LSU can firm up their offensive system into what it always should have been, it equalizes it even more. Les Miles isn't walking through that door.

Anyone who ever watched Louisiana football knew we should always have great WRs, DBs, LBs and running backs. Why in hell not have a wide open offensive attack.
Brady type offense was made for Louisiana type athletes.

Yap

And think about the WRs LSU can’t even offer yet from in-state

Landon Ibeietta
Zavion Thomas
Keshlon Jackson
Amorion Walker
Curtis Deville
Leroy Paige
Theron Johnson
Jaylin Lucas

All these guys are going to sign P5

And Anderson is better than each and every one of them.

Maybe he’s feeling a bit jealous, maybe the coaching staff is really putting it on Shazz right now and his feelings are hurt, The only thing I know is Will C & Walker H won’t flinch, the rest is a crap shoot!

Maybe

You are just going off of offers. Keep in mind it Took LSU until November last year to offer Jack bech. Who knows what this high school season holds.

Anderson was better than Destyn Hill when he was a year behind him at Karr

I'd be very surprised if anderson flips. Hopefully he just went to the bama camp to show out and maybe earn an offer.

Sometimes a kid wants to prove something. He is my favorite recruit and last year jojo earle was.
Hopefully it doesn't turn out the same.

btw this is AJ Johnson from yesterday. Outside of the false step he has off the line, there aren't too many kids his height that can move and bend like he can.

Agreed. Between here and other boards, all I see are people claiming AJ can just be written off for “higher rated” kids.

Kid is 6’4 and looks to be that big tall physical WR we don’t see much anymore. I’d like to compare AJ with Mike Williams from USC from way back when to see if they’re comparable.

Those fast, speedy, and finesse WRs are the ones that are a dime a dozen. Kids like AJ are not and you need those kind of kids in the red zone.

If Anderson flips, does this open the door to tell Hill to seek an alternative school?

I think they have a nice complimentary group at WR

None of them are really like AJ though. I want to compare him to Terrace Marshall but I really think he’ll grow into that 6’2” 220 range.

Want to see him be more aggressive on the field. But he has all the pieces

I’ll get downvoted for this but I disagree significantly. WR has become one of the most important positions on the field—look at the elite teams of the past few years: LSU and Clemson in 2019, Bama in 2020, Ohio state this coming year—and as of now, Anderson might be the only truly dangerous receiver in our class. I like AJ johnson and decoldest, but to me, those guys don’t project to be stars at the SEC level. We need stars, and imo anderson can be that. This is a position where the top programs are stacking 2, 3, 4 top 100 recruits every single cycle. Just because we have one other 4* doesn’t mean that we don’t need Anderson. A class with just AJ Johnson and decoldest would be a legitimate problem.

If we can finish this class with Preston/Anderson/johnson/Crawford, I’ll feel very good. If we finish this class off with Preston/johnson/Crawford, I’ll feel okay. If we finish this class off with johnson/Crawford, I’ll feel bad.

The fact is that WR recruiting, in this day and age, dictates the ceiling of your offense. Anderson is not a guy that we can lose and just say “ah who cares”

You are extremely overexaggerating.

1. LSU pulled in a King's ransom at WR last year and you are selling guys like Crawford and Johnson way short.

2. After Bama pulled in that 3 man WR haul in 2017, they only got one elite WR over the next 3 years. In the 2019 class they pulled in one WR, 40th ranked at his position Metchie. Metchie is about become the next Bama WR to go high in the draft. In 2018 they pulled in Waddle who went top 10. The other two guys they had in that span, which were top 25 at their position at top 150 overall recruits, have done nothing, and haven't even been needed.

3. This is LSU so we'll get at least one elite WR no matter who it is, but let's say we only get Decoldest and Johnson. That's literally one year in a 3 year cycle (used to be 4 years but everybody leaves after 3). Boutte is here for another 2 years, the freshman 3+ (5 of them, 3 in the top 13 at WR), and Decoldest and/or Johnson could turn into the next low ranked star WR at LSU (Brandon LaFell, DJ Chark, Justin Jefferson).

Somewhat true but LSU never struggles recruiting WR even when we had Les Miles. They're literally a dime a dozen so for LSU to come back and replace them with someone just as elite isn't as hard. Just look at this class so far and look at how many WRs are interested in LSU. We don't have a spot for all of them.

247 has done an awful job scouting Louisiana this year. Look at their rankings. They're not close to the composite. They really shite the bed on evaluations. They need to update it.

Rivals is much more accurate for Louisiana kids. I’m hoping 247 can update their rankings after a lot of these kids camp this summer.

I had an account on 247 and switched to rivals & enjoy it much more. Shea is great but is pulling dead weight over there.

Julie is a damn hustler and Jimmy is in tuned with the 7 on 7 stuff. Jerit Roser contributes and has a sneaky good youtube channel with prospect interviews and such, Louisiana vs All Yall. Im enjoying their coverage much more so far.

I don't have an account but i have to agree that rivals has much more information, especially for Louisiana recruits.
