If it were possible to trade the majority of senseless crime that happens (people shooting other people for 5$ And whatnot) for people doing things like buying and selling stolen credit card numbers online, would you make that trade? Would that be a better world? In this scenario you either get to keep things the way they are right now or have the majority of those people inside at their computers, not endangering others physically, and then getting 3-5 year prison sentences if they get caught or something.
If you say neither than I say good luck in making that happen.

I mean....we were stuck with one of these scenarios last year during the economic sanctions and forced lockdowns.

Where do you think the money stolen in credit card scams/hacks goes? That money doesn't just pay for a hacker's summer vacation. It's organized crime and goes to support guns, drugs, human trafficking, etc. I personally have more of a chance of being the victim of cyber crime than I do violent crime. Personally, I'd rather get mugged for the contents of my wallet than have my entire life savings stolen from a cyber hack.

Maybe we could put it in a colliseum. Got any other ideas? Wanna make a horse a Senator? Should we inspect the entrails of an animal sacrifice to make some decisions? Maybe we could go back to putting lead into our water pipes.

At least it would be stolen by rational actors. If your bank account gets hacked that’s on the bank not you. Just an inconvenience for you. Bank would have to recoup your losses and then no chance of getting shot by some moron.

Rational actors? You mean criminal scumbags. Just stop.

I would like to have a Hunger Games type event with members of ISIS vs MS13 on an island fighting until one side has been completely eliminated. Survivors get free lifetime accommodation at Guantanamo bay.

I can maintain physical distance between myself and high crime areas. Anybody who chooses to can.
Can’t escape cyber crime.
