Anyone have someone they’d recommend for private lessons for an 8-year old? Looking for something maybe 1 or 2 times per week with 1-on-1 instruction or maybe even someone willing to take on two kids.

I'd contact BRSC and see if they have any reliable players looking to make a few extra bucks, or maybe one of their coaches does individual trainings. Don't wear your 8 year old down though. Make sure it's still fun

Honestly just want her to feel comfortable with ball on her feet and learn some things she can practice and get confidence in in order to use them in games. She asked me how to get better, so I’m going to try this route along with letting her do her own drills.

Them even wanting to get better is half the battle. Keep it up.

Over the summer most larger clubs will have summer camps, and technical trainings that you can sign-up with. It's a great way to see the club, get your kid some quality touches, and let's them work with actual coaches.

Whatever drills/games you do, emphasize being able to do it with both feet. It’s tough, but the younger they learn, the better off they will be in the long run.

Oh, and teach her to pass to the Italians

Yeah my son does all drills with both feet. It’s essential

He will be 10 on Christmas Eve. He has been playing soccer since he was 4.

Yeah, as a coach, the biggest complaint I have is "use your left foot." Players don't realize how much better they become when they can use both feet.

Good times. Enjoy it man, these next 4-5 years are going to be great...as he still needs you for development. Knock it around with him as much as you can.

ETA: Don’t want to bump, but I found an old vid from when he was 9 or 10:

I've been teaching kids in my neighborhood using a well-placed wall, some cones, and a size 1 ball. The results have been pretty superb.
