Back it up how? Through explanation? Yes. We are referred to as seniors within our business unit by everyone. Through the company, no, they would just say we were promoted from the prior junior position. But that doesn’t accurately reflect the position as the main part of the job is to being taken off day to day activities to support mgmt
I just think it’s silly to not be able to add the senior title because semantics

Anyone that reviews your resume will focus more on this, and what it means, than whatever job title you put down. If you think it will help you standout, put the senior in the job title. The only way an interviewer will know is when they check for references, which means you basically already have the job. If your current employer does not list you as senior, or corrects them, the potential future employer will reach out to you about the discrepancy and you can explain it again (it will be after your interview where I would assume you would discuss the potential issue)
