I don't think it would matter because there is such a need for them at this time... so go to lsu and have a great time!

I got my ChemE degree at LSU so I'm probably somewhat biased. In all honestly - that degree from any of those three schools would be great.

You can't go wrong with any of those.

LSU over Tulane or Tech. LSU is better than Tech and closer to industry where the jobs are.

Tulane ONLY if your sole goal is to go medical/law. They place like 70% of their students in grad or professional school. But its likely only because of the type of student, not the school. Obviously LSU isn't close to this number.

Generally for working in ChemE, LSU is superior, many chemical plants dont' even interview at Tulane b/c of tensions over their environmental law clinic and the fact that most people from there go back to jewengland anyway.

yeah im leaning lsu but might try tulane since i can change my mine and get a better degree.. i think tulane could propel me to a energy trading job..

As a person who got multiple ChE degrees at LSU, LSU is the way to go. Its stupid to pay for Tulane when LSU is just as good or better.

LSU definitely is better than La Tech too. Plus you'll be miserable at Tech. Trust me, you get decent grades at LSU you won't have any problems finding a job. The oil companies are paying BS's out of school $80K...on average.

Unless you plan on getting a scholarship, you should also take into account the relative cost of the three schools.

I don't have any first-hand info on ChemE, but in general, I personally found it difficult to justify going deep into debt to go to Tulane, which is why I chose LSU for both undergrad (Mech Eng) and med school.

I knew some Tulane students that were $200k plus in debt by the time they were done with undergrad and med school.

Loans are easy to obtain, but hard to pay back. JMO.
