Gun Trade - Probability of success..AR for Garand

Gents...
Ended up with an extra lower I assembled without an upper.
Thinking of dropping an upper on it and seeing if I can successfully trade it for a M1.
I would bet the chance is pretty slim but I'm curious yalls opinion.
I have multiple built so I out together the lower from parts showing my son how to. Watching Sands of Iwo Jima has me wanting a Grand. Always have. Now might be a good time to try for a swap.

If you can find someone to trade you a garand for an AR-15. More power to you.
Good luck

Depending on the lower you built it out of and the upper you can make the trade.
If the guy that has the Garand would trade that straight up for an AR (depending on the components, he may not be smart enough to own a gun.

Modern AR + $2,000.00 cash = Pretty good M1 Garand

That's likely what I figured.
Didn't expect that high.
Figured a AR +$500 might would get there.

Are you looking for an original M1?
If not, drop $750 on a CMP Garand and keep/sell the AR

Don't need an original.
It'd be nice, but the reality of that is slim. Pragmatically a CMP would be fine.

I am sure you can find a sucker.
When I had my store I traded "ANY AR15 on my wall" for a M1 carbine, matching, WW2 correct with a sealed ammo can of 30 carbine. That sealed can was worth about $600 at the time, I am sure it has skyrocketed in value since then.
Kid was happy as a pig in slop to get rid of this fud gun, my grandpa got to walk down memory lane, he carried and M1 carbine in Korea. I didn't rip him off, he asked for an M&P sport, I could have very well let him take it. I tried to get him to take a Colt but he ended up with some tacticool looking thing our gunsmith had put together, probably was mostly Aero/spikes.
