It was a Rangers vs Astros game the summer the ballpark at Arlington opened. I remember Juan Gonzales hitting a grand slam but that’s about it.
Pretty sure Rangers didn’t play the Astros in ‘94. Interleague play hasn’t started and Stros were in the National League back then.

My bad - I misread the stats.

Saw the Colt 45's play someone a long, long time ago in Houston. I think the stadium was named Colt 45's Park.

My aunt Betty and uncle Jim took me to the Houston astrodome ca. 1980 to watch bob Watson and the Houston Astros defeat Cincinnati 3-0. Watson hit a HR over left field wall.

and Doug Rader, the "Red Rooster"
One of the things I remember about my first game. Summer 1973, Astrodome, vs. the Mets. Mets won, but Rader hit a home run. That was back when the Astrodome had that huge lighted scoreboard, which went crazy upon an Astros homer.
We were on a car vacation but tent camped, in a KOA outside of town (my then-stepfather was a cheap bastard). Before the game, we had dinner at some restaurant in the Galleria mall. And the day after the game, we went to Astroworld.

Astros vs. Mets Astrodome 1973. Doug Rader hit two home runs for the Stros but the Mets won 5-3. Mets went on to the World Series that year losing in 7 to the A's.

Mine was an early 90s Braves game. I couldn't tell you a single detail. I just remember walking through the concourse of Fulton County Stadium to our seats and seeing flashes of this sea of beautiful, green grass through every entrance. Then finally stepping out and taking the whole thing in. This would have been my first time in any venue bigger than a high school field. Pretty impressive.

Atlanta Braves vs Philadelphia Sep 4, 1992
This was the first Braves game for both my parents and me. I remember my dad buying tickets from a scalper because he didnt think to try to get tickets from the Box Office...and there were tickets.
I remember the game mainly because I remember a vendor telling me and my parents that this was the best game to make it my first because Tom Glavine was trying for his 20th win. Dont really remember much more about the game. Didnt know it was Schilling pitching for the Phillies until I was an adult.

I got a foul ball at my first. I still treasure that ball.
It was Braves @ Astros in the Astrodome in 1994 just weeks before the strike ended the season. I was 12 years old. The Braves left fielder, Mike Gallagher, picked up the foul ball and spotted me with my glove at the railing and tossed it to me.
I got Mark Wohlers autograph before the game. Almost got Tom Glavine’s autograph. I was right under the sign for autographs and he started at the kid just to my right. I was first in line and he started with the second guy! WTF! But I did touch Tom Glavine’s right shoulder.

My only mlb game was the Astros and the reds in the astrodome. A guy named Shane was the Astros pitcher it wasn’t as fun as the old Alec box

94', first year the Rangers opened in Arlington against the Expos. My one and only MLB game. When I was younger I wanted so badly to go and see the Braves.
It was actually the New York Mets who the Rangers opened up with in 1994 in an exhibition game. I was there and still have the ticket

My first was a Rangers game in 98 when they were playing the Cardinals and McGwire was in the home run race. My dad still gives me shite about it cause he had to take me to the bathroom and while we were gone McGwire hit a bomb. 2 innings later he took me to get some food from the concession stand and a brawl broke out on the field. I was very young so I don’t remember all this but I made my dad miss a lot of action that day.
The first time the Rangers and Cardinals ever played was in 2004. If McGwire played in Arlington it was for the A's

Thursday night game Canseco hits two Homeruns...and oh yeah, Kenny Rogers pitched a perfect game.
I was at that game too. I was only 6 years old so my dad had to explain to me what was going on.
My dad worked for the Rangers from the time I was born until 2000 so I grew up going to dozens of games every year. So my first ever game I honestly can't remember since I was a baby.
The first game I can remember was August 27, 1992 when the Rangers played the Royals. I remember because Nolan pitched and KC had a player named Wally Joyner which was the name of our babysitter's dog so it registered with me. I was 4.
We always watched games from box suites. I still remember staying late well after a Rangers game was over in 1995 to watch the Magic-Rockets Game 1 NBA Finals game that went to overtime.

Shoot, probably the same game as mine. Maybe he hit 2 at my game; I was only 8 at the time.

Could well have been, I was 7 but I remember one seemed to almost scrape the roof of the Dome.

August 8th, 1988. The first game under the lights at Wrigley field. There was a rain delay and the players used the tarp as a slip & slide.

My mother was a 6th grade teacher and took her students to Houston to visit the zoo, and then a Colt 45 ball game. I went along was maybe 5 or 6. They played the Dodgers and Drysdale pitched for them, 45's, no clue. Ended up losing a student at the zoo. Had to hang around for the police to bring em to the ball park after the game.

1979 Reds and Braves at Fulton County Stadium. Clearest memory is an older guy kept yelling that the Braves were going to be the spoilers this year, but next year the Braves won't be shady in 1980.
