Thanks for all the wins the championship and thrills thru the years. No one has beat Father Time yet. Sorry to hear of his physical health issues but hope he gets that worked out and who knows maybe coaches again.

Yes I feel it is the right time to make a move but that doesn’t mean I dislike the guy.

Father Time is undefeated. I hope he doesn’t have anything serious.

Do you think his health had nothing to do with his decision to retire?

ETA

He just said he reached out to Woodward, let him know what was going on & that he felt the program would be better served would be better with someone leading it
Wanted to give Woodward plenty of time to find the right coach to keep LSU strong next season

The man is in tears, you can tell he loves coaching

In his press conference he just said “the pain in my neck has caused terrible headaches for about 3 years and it has affected his ability to coach” and was fighting back tears as he was saying it. He knows it, I just don’t see how so many people can beat up on the guy. It’s hard to quit something you love when you don’t want to

Talking about his bucket list

He wants to visit former players
Doesn’t want them to just show up at his funeral, he wants to visit them so that he can enjoy them & see their families

He really is a great guy. All of the stories people were posting today about him just sums up who he is as a person. People say he’s tough on his players and what not. But guess what? That builds character and transforms boys into men. I’d kill to have a coach like Paul

Heard it was a very tough, heartfelt press conference. Wish the best for coach in retirement. He loves LSU and it’s always tough to see a lifetime coach realize it’s the end.

Thanks for the great years, coach!

I hope he hangs around with DD (both very close friends) and goes to a bunch of LSU sports events repping LSU.

I'm watching his presser on the SEC Network, and you can tell this man's soul is hurting. He loves LSU and he loves his former players. His emotion is gut-wrenching.

It's too bad his health is preventing him from operating at the level he wants to. LSU is losing a good one.

I have not seen the presser. I stand corrected.

Absolutely agree. People love to judge when they don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes in peoples lives

Damn man, CPM has frustrated me a lot... no doubt though, he loves this program. It’s rough hearing him talk about LSU.
