The Rush Limbaugh replacements are in, as Clay Travis and Buck Sexton will take over his three-hour conservative talk radio show time slot, said distributor Premiere Networks.
The duo will serve up similar right-wing fare, tackling news stories of the day, politics and current events, peppered with call-ins from listeners and humor. Premiere Networks hopes the younger voices will bring something new to talk radio, while also continuing on in Mr. Limbaugh’s legacy. The program, slated to begin airing June 21, will be called “The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show.” It is expected to air around the country, from noon to 3 p.m. ET, on hundreds of stations.
“We’re not going to replace Rush Limbaugh, we’re going to have an evolution of the show with fresh voices—those that grew up on Rush and admired him,” said Julie Talbott, president of iHeartMedia Inc.’s IHRT +1.16% Premiere Networks.
Since the 70-year-old conservative talk-radio icon and pioneer of right-wing media died from complications from lung cancer in February, the industry has been looking to fill his massive void. Mr. Limbaugh’s show, marked by his signature brash and acerbic conservatism, ran for more than three decades and was the most listened to in the U.S., according to Nielsen Audio, reaching more than 20 million monthly listeners on more than 650 affiliates as of the end of 2020.

It’s funny that clay Travis who worked for Al Gore and voted for Obama twice is taking over a conservative radio talk show. I don’t disagree with a lot of his opinions but it’s just funny to me

I really enjoy listening to Buck Sexton. I think he is a good fit. Hopefully they have a good dynamic together.

Will they use the Golden Microphone to talk to those across the "fruited plain"?
I hope they keep Bo Snerdley (James Golden).

Holy cow - Clay Travis is killing the game of life. Sold Outkick for around $100 million and now this. Amazing.

Buck Sexton would be a great name for a porno actor.

I believe his views to be genuine. In a recent appearance on Portnoy's show, Clay said he hasn't taken a "phony" position in order to appeal to his audience. He picks his topics with that in mind (as any talk radio show host would) and culture has just shifted this much that he finds himself almost always on the "unwoke" side of things.

My objective evaluation. I've heard them. They suck.
But if you find them informative then you should listen.

My favorite local station stupidly replaced Rush with Todd Starnes and recently replaced Todd Starnes with Bongino. Dan is the real deal.

Clay Travis is not a soft conservative. If anything he's a hard core libertarian in the same mold as Neal Boortz. He also has a passionate hatred for woke culture and the mainstream media. He went on CNN a few years back and was famously banned from their network after he said, and I quote, "I believe in two things: the First Amendment and boobs."

I know more about Sexton and have watched his show a few times. Only know a little about Travis.
Disappointed that Steyn didn't get the nod. Maybe he wasn't interested. Think he'd be a better fit, but will give these guys a listen before making a judgement.
ETA: Interested to see how a 2 man show works out in light of the fact that Rush didn't need the support of a co-host. Another reason Steyn should have taken the mic. He can carry a show by himself.

If so, he wouldn't keep the show. No way the most popular radio host of all time's listensers would allow Rush's show be co-opted by some cuck.

What happened to Bongino? I thought he was named a couple of months ago.

Meanwhile, Atlanta is stuck with WSBs garbage establishment GOP host, Eric Erickson.
