We decided to take a last minute trip for Memorial Day weekend. We are kayaking Holmes creek on Sunday, but have Saturday open. It's just me, my wife and two teenage daughters. Does anyone know of anything else to do around that general area? We are willing to travel 30-40 miles from there. Any food recs would be appreciated also. TIA

Drive to the beach. There’s nothing around Bonifay.

Take the girls to Seaside. When you drive down 395, just turn into the dirt roads of Old Seagrove and make your way into back of Seaside, just to avoid 30A.
There are some cool SUV dirt/sand road trails off 395 too.

Falling Waters State Park in Chipley
Florida Caverns State Park in Marianna.
Florida Caverns State Park
Pounce de Leon State Park near Ponce de Leon, about 15 miles or so west of Bonifay.
But going to the beach is a good idea too.

I live close by. What made you choose to stay in Bonifay or where are you staying?
Are you bringing your own kayaks? There’s a lot of good one way kayak trips around you could also do Econfina Creek, Fish the choctawhatchee River or Holmes Creek, go to Morrison springs, etc. I’m not sure what all you are looking for? There’s not a lot close by it’s a rural area and small town.
