Enjoy the ride. I have two girls, 5 and 1.5. They’ll get older no matter what.
ETA Today I picked up the younger girl from daycare. Just wait til you do the same and she comes walking out with a grin from ear to ear because dad is there to pick her up.

I used to surprise my daughter and pick her up from school early when she thought she had to go to aftercare and wait till 5 when mommy would get her.
The joy and smile on her face was priceless. She would talk the whole way home and tell me about every single minute and every thing that happened in her day. So sweet and innocent
Now that she’s almost 14 we have a close bond and she’s becoming a young woman but she’ll always be that sweet little 4th grader with a motor mouth.

And then the next day she’ll make you feel like shite when she screams “no daddy! I want mommy!” as soon as she sees you...

This. Ever day I pick up my 3 yr old she comes running out screaming daddy daddy with a big smile. It makes my day.
5 yr old, she’s the one that makes me question what the hell did I do to deserve this. And not in a good way.
