WTF with restaurants still requiring a mask?

I have seen a number of restaurants in yuppier "I've got an education and a car-based luxury SUV (see:minivan) and voted for biden" areas posting on facebook and instagram:
"You will still be required to wear a mask in our restaurant despite the CDC dropping the mask requirement"
Some have even got really huffy, asserting quite forcefully that they own the place and will not buck any dissent.
First, frick those guys.
Second, don't they believe in science?
Third, why haven't they got their staff vaccinated? What's easier, verifying the medical state of 20 staff or 2000 customers? I know the restaurant business has been really hard lately but we've all been dealing with adversity lately and this is one of those "not a problem till you make it a problem" issues.

They needed to make a splash with dropping the mask mandate when people realized that that the NIH was funding bat coronavirus research in Wuhan.
Yes. Dr Fauci’s organization specifically was funding Bat Coronovirus research at the same town where Covid-19 was released. Has been since 2014.
The media needed something else to latch onto. So the mask mandate dropping was it.

Yes. I just dont understand why people give a frick. I mean, even when masks were a huge thing you only had to wear it when walking in. Restaurants will eventually catch up if they havent already.

So you're pissed that a private business is enforcing their own mask policy and also pissed that they aren't forcing their employees to get vaccinated?
You have to wear a mask for about 10 seconds entering and leaving a restaurant. Is it stupid? Yes. Would it prohibit me from going to my restaurant of choice? No.

Pretty simple. Either they're indoctrinated by the CNNs and MSNBCs or they have a customer base that has been and are crying about masks.

I'll put on a mask if a private business wants me to. However, they better damn well provide it. Otherwise, I guess I (or said business given that they will be losing my money) is out of luck.

Absolutely. They are forcing "the science" on us, but not following it themselves.
Also, per my initial statement, why worry about 2000 patrons vax status when one knows all 20 staff members are vax'ed and safe? Think about that math.
