We do quite well close to the lock/dams on the Red River. Live sunfish. Best are what I used to call pumpkin seeds, but now think they are dollar sunfish. Small fast aggressive suckers with lots of color.

Truth. If you get a mudcat, clip his sharp fins and put him on the hook closest to the stump. This hook should already be bigger than every other hook on the trotline with the exception of the hook on the other end nearest the other stump.

That is how you obtain the sweet, sweet belly meat.
