Should a player get an assist for passing to a player that is fouled in the act of shooting and proceeds to make all free throws? Their pass led to the potential for points, so I’m having a hard time thinking of an argument against it. Thoughts?

Why not have the NBA go all NHL and give more than one assist on a play.

Player 1 drives and dishes to an open man in the paint (Player 2) and he kicks it out to Player 3, who hits a three.
