Lemme just make it simple for you. And I think this goes for many many Americans of different stripes and persuasions.
Many folk understand Israel isn’t a useful ally to the US.
Many folk also naturally side with Israel bc 1) Judeo-Christian tradition and/or 2) “hey, at least they aren’t Muslims!”
Jews in the US also have a lot of media influence which is persuasive.
There’s not much more to it than that.
I’ve advocated for years the US should cut off all aid to Israel and offer Alabama as a substitute. Two birds, one stone thing.
