Can we? We are outsourcing everything meaningful. Without private companies I don't think we could get down the street... Where we are in regards to space exploration is sad.

Technology advancements have moved at a way quicker rate world wide in the past 40 years than when the Chinese invented rockets. The rate of information going around the world in this era is not comparable to when the Chinese made rockets.

In 1903 the Wright brothers flew for the first time. In 1969, 66 years later we landed a man on the moon. Top that one.

Probably because China couldn't conquer them but did get conquered by the Mongols.

And? We’re talking about the modern day US and the PRC here. Not ancient China and Europe.
